About David Lee Murphy

David Lee Murphy’s combination of neo-traditional country and rock made him a mid 90’s music icon. Born in Southern Illinois, Murphy was inspired at a young age to develop his passion for music. He became heavily influenced by the likes of Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, and The Allman Brothers. After building up traction in Nashville, he signed with MCA Records and began bringing his unique musical style to life. In 1995, his song “Party Crowd” was the most-played song on country radio. After producing five successful studio albums and a load of co-written projects with big names in Nashville, Murphy earned himself a prestigious reputation in the modern country genre. In 2018, Murphy collaborated with producer Buddy Cannon and good friend Kenny Chesney to create “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright”, which reached #1 on the US country chart.
