About Elderbrook

Elderbrook is the artist name of visionary English electronic musician, singer, songwriter, producer and DJ, Alexander Kotz. Born December 20th 1992 in London England, Alex grew up in a musical household, with his father being a jazz musician and his mother a classical pianist. This gave him a wide range of musical exposure at an early age, centering around jazz, funk, classical and pop. As a teenager, Alex was guitarist and singer/songwriter of his own indie band. He later created hip/hop music before finding his creative home in electronic music while studying in Bath, England. After graduating in 2013, Alex moved to Berlin to continue pursuing music. Elderbrook’s first hit in the scene arrived in 2015 with the German artist Andhim’s remix of the track “How Many Times” from his debut EP Simmer Down. Elderbrook has since collaborated with many other artists including Gorgon City, MK, Rudimental, Clean Bandit, ZHU and CamelPhat. His most popular track “Cola” was the result of his collaboration with CamelPhat. The track ended up hitting the number one spot on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs and was also nominated for Best Dance Song at the 2018 Grammy Awards. Elderbrook released his first official full length album, Why Do We Shake In The Cold?, in 2020 featuring tracks with CamelPhat, Rudimental and Ytram. He continued releasing a steady stream of popular singles such as the hit track “Body”, “Inner Light” (feat. Bob Moses), and “I’ll Find My Way To You” (feat. Emmit Fenn) leading up to the Innerlight EP release. Staying in flow, Elderbrook followed this EP with more popular singles such as “Howl” (feat. Tourist), “Beautiful Morning”, and “I’ll Be Around”. These tracks preceded the release of his second LP Little Love, including tracks with artists Amtrac, Vintage Culture, and Tourist. His most recent single “Glad I Found You” (feat. George Fitzgerald) was released the day before his first headlining set at legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater. Elderbrook has centered himself at the leading edge of an exciting realm within electronic music with his fusion of emotionally sung and human-touching lyricism coupled perfectly with deep house beats and dynamic synth. His fans enjoy that he continues to push the envelope on his creativity with new music and live performances. Global Extreme is currently directing, producing and editing the full-set film Elderbrook - Live at Red Rocks from his sold-out performance there on April 12th, 2024.
