Mihali Savoulidis, the Vermont-based singer, songwriter, and guitarist, is best known as the dynamic frontman of the jam band Twiddle, blending rock, jazz, reggae, bluegrass, and funk into immersive, improvisational live performances that have captivated audiences for nearly two decades. Born in Maplewood, New Jersey, Mihali grew up in a musically rich environment influenced by his Greek heritage and ’90s bands like Bush and Sublime, which helped shape his eclectic sound. In 2004, he co-founded Twiddle at Castleton State College in Vermont, where the band quickly built a devoted fanbase known as Frends, performing at iconic venues like Red Rocks Amphitheatre and festivals including Bonnaroo and Electric Forest. Following Twiddle’s indefinite hiatus in late 2022, Mihali launched a solo career, releasing Breathe and Let Go in 2020, which featured collaborations with Citizen Cope, Matisyahu, G. Love & Special Sauce, and Trevor Hall, earning critical praise for its soulful, genre-crossing sound. His 2022 album Effection explored personal growth and transformation through collaborations with Iration, The Movement, The Elovaters, Jacob Hemphill of SOJA, and Iya Terra, leading to tours with SOJA and G. Love & Special Sauce in 2024. Mihali’s third studio album, Before The Dream (2025), further cemented his reputation for blending emotional depth with musical versatility, featuring Little Stranger, Tropidelic, Lily Fangz, Brett Dennen, Andy Frasco, and production by Spencer Thomson of Moon Taxi. Mihali’s music is deeply personal, honoring influences like his childhood friend Hattie, and continues to foster connection, healing, and community through its vibrant fusion of genres and heartfelt storytelling.
