The Elovaters, hailing from Marshfield, Massachusetts, have quickly become a must-listen band for fans of reggae, ska, and progressive roots music, drawing comparisons to Sublime, Jack Johnson, Stick Figure, Slightly Stoopid, G. Love, and The Movement. Formed in 2014 under the name “The Cornerstone,” the group—Jackson Weatherbee (lead vocals, guitar), Johnny “Blaze” Alves (lead guitar), Nick Asta (drums), Matty Link (bass), Derrick Cabral (percussion), and Greg Nectow (keys)—rose through the Boston concert scene before releasing their debut album in 2017 under their original name. Their breakout came in 2018 with Defy Gravity, which debuted #1 on Billboard and iTunes Reggae charts and featured the city-titled anthem “Boston,” played at the Red Sox World Series Parade. Over the years, The Elovaters have toured extensively, from iconic Boston venues like the Paradise Rock Club and House of Blues to legendary stages such as Red Rocks and Reggae Rise Up festivals. They’ve collaborated widely, releasing tracks with Pepper, Bret Bollinger, Stick Figure, The Movement, Tropidelic, Matisyahu, and more, including EPs Double Vision and My Friend and hits like “Let It All Out,” “Gardenia,” and “Gimme Love.” Their latest full-length album, Endless Summer, dropped at the 10th anniversary of Levitate Music and Arts Festival in their hometown, celebrating both the band and the local community. Known for their high-energy live performances, The Elovaters blend chill reggae grooves with jaw-dropping jams, creating a vibe that keeps fans dancing, smiling, and coming back for more.
