Tribal Seeds, a San Diego-based reggae band, was formed in 2005 by brothers Steven and Tony-Ray Jacobo and has become one of the most respected groups in modern roots reggae. Known for their spiritually driven, soulful sound, the band blends traditional reggae rhythms with contemporary influences, creating music that resonates deeply with fans worldwide. The current lineup includes Victor Navarro on bass, Ryan Gonzo on guitar, Luis Castillo and Danny Lopilato on keyboards, and Jamey Deofsky on drums, all contributing to the rich, layered sound that has defined Tribal Seeds’ recordings and live performances. Over the years, the band has earned widespread acclaim, including Best World Music at the San Diego Music Awards in 2008 and Artist of the Year at the same awards in 2017, cementing their status as leaders in the reggae community. Their fourth studio album, Representing (2014), debuted at number one on the Billboard Reggae Charts, highlighting both their commercial appeal and artistic growth. Tribal Seeds’ music often explores themes of spirituality, unity, love, and social consciousness, striking a balance between uplifting messages and infectious grooves.
