Trippie Redd

Trippie Redd, born in Canton, Ohio, is a defining voice of the late-2010s SoundCloud rap movement. His early musical exposure came from his mother, who played artists like Beyoncé, Tupac, and Nas, sparking a lifelong passion that he expanded by studying T-Pain, Kiss, Nirvana, Gucci Mane, and Lil Wayne. Tragedy struck in 2014 with the loss of his brother, but Trippie channeled his grief into music, writing his first songs in middle school. In 2016, he moved to Atlanta, collaborating with Lil Wop and producer Pierre Bourne to refine his sound, and released his breakout mixtape Luv Scars. Relocating to Los Angeles, he gained prominence through tracks like “Poles1469” with 6ix9ine and collaborations with XXXTentacion, establishing himself as a leader in the underground trap scene. Trippie’s debut studio album Life’s a Trip (2019) featured the platinum-certified single “Dark Knight Dummo” with Travis Scott, followed by albums ! (2019), Pegasus (2020), and Trip at Knight (2021). Known for blending melodic rap with emotional vulnerability, Trippie has also crossed into pop-punk collaborations with artists like Machine Gun Kelly, Travis Barker, blackbear, and iann dior, cementing his reputation as a versatile and influential figure in modern music.
