Bio

Willow Smith, born into the celebrity spotlight as the daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, began performing at an early age, appearing in films such as I Am Legend at seven and touring with her mother’s nu-metal band Wicked Wisdom between ages three and seven, shaping her eclectic musical taste. She first exploded onto the music scene with her viral single “Whip My Hair,” which earned her a deal with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, making her the youngest artist ever signed to the label and launching a demanding touring schedule by age ten. In her early teens, Willow openly shared her struggles with self-harm, using her experiences to inspire and support others facing similar challenges. Musically, Willow blends pop-punk, hip-hop, rap, and R&B, drawing inspiration from artists like My Chemical Romance, Paramore, and Fall Out Boy, and she has continued to evolve her sound with projects such as THE ANXIETY (2020) with Tyler Cole, which included the hit “Meet Me At Our Spot,” and collaborations with Travis Barker, Avril Lavigne, Kid Cudi, and Machine Gun Kelly on tracks like “Gaslight,” “G R O W,” and “t r a n s p a r e n t s o u l.” Her latest album, <COPINGMECHANISM>, dives deeper into emo-pop, exploring themes of emotional struggle, relationships, and personal growth, and she celebrated its release by engaging fans in discussions about their own coping strategies at an interactive event at Rough Trade in Rockefeller Center. Through her fearless genre experimentation, vulnerable songwriting, and dedication to building community and healing, Willow continues to redefine the boundaries of modern music while inspiring a generation of listeners to embrace authenticity and resilience.
